SCP Launched in Kumi, Ngora and Katakwi Courts

Small Claims Procedure (SCP) was launched at Kumi, Ngora and Katakwi Chief Magistrates' Courts making the fast access to justice initiative coverage accessible in 69 courts.
The rollout at both courts was presided over by the RDCs of the different districts Mr. Hussein Matanda, Mr. Onoria Ambrose and Mr. Enomu Vincent of Kumi, Ngora and Katakwi respectively.
Notably present at the launches was Ag. Assistant Registrar SCP, HW Lillian Bucyana who appealed to court users to embrace SCP because it is efficient, cost-effective and fast.
"This procedure is quick, affordable, judgment is instant or delivered within 30 days," she said.
The RDC of Ngora district described SCP as a Christmas package and pledged to incorporate the procedure in the national programs, a message echoed by the other RDCs.
The RDC of Katakwi district, Mr. Enomu applauded the Judiciary for rolling out SCP to different areas of Eastern Uganda and asked the Judiciary to hold sensitization drives about the same.
